Situated
on the banks of the Wenatchee River near the small
town of Plain, this 1,800 sq. ft. cabin exemplifies
what D.T.R. is all about- quality, craftsmanship,
and attention to detail. Working together with the
architect and home owner, many unique features were
able to be brought from design to reality. This
home features acid-stained concrete floors with
radiant in-floor heat and a two sided masonry
fire place made entirely of soap stone imported
from Finland by Tulikivi. An enclosed winter porch utilizes
one side of the fire place and the great room lays
claim to the other. The great room boasts a vaulted
ceiling featuring hand built trusses with exposed
T&G pine ceilings. Even the children
had a say in the design as you will notice in the
photos the custom built fire pole that drops from
the second floor balcony down to the lower deck.
To maximize the usage of limited space, custom built
in cabinetry was designed throughout the home.
The entertainment center in the great room has a
full size pull out bed integrated into the cabinetry,
the loft area features two built in sleeping bunks
with storage underneath, and the wrap around bench-style
dining area is perfect for this family of four.
This cabin is proof that if you can dream it, we
can do it.
